Taylor Hill’s Career
In 2011, when she was 14 years old, Taylor was scouted in a horse ranch during a riding lesson in her hometown of Granby, Colorado, by Jim Jordan – an agent and photographer. She was quickly signed to IMG Models and was being flown to Europe for modeling jobs before the age of 15.
Soon she was beginning to be picked up by big names: in 2013 she was featured in Intimissimi’s catalog and was in print campaigns for Forever 21. Also that year she had her catwalk debut, walking for Ralph Lauren and Roksanda Illincic.
Since then she has walked for the likes of Kenzo, Valentino, Emporio Armani, DKNY, Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Elie Saab, Karl Lagerfeld, and more.
In 2016, she became the face of Topshop’s autumn collection, meaning she was practically ubiquitous.
She has appeared in editorials for American, French, Spanish, Norwegian, and Mexican Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, French, Dutch, and Australian Elle, W, Madame Figaro, Dazed, LOVE, Russian Número, Glamour and Italian Marie Claire.
Taylor first walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2014, and in 2015 she was awarded her Victoria’s Secret Angel Wings.
She reportedly earned $1.5 million for her duties as a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2015.
The increasing popularity of social media was in parallel with Hill’s ascent to Victoria’s Secret Angel stardom. With Instagram, models became more than nameless faces hidden beneath designer dresses and makeup. “It was strange because it was kind of like adapt or die,” Hill says of Instagram.
“But luckily, I was so young that I just naturally adapted.” Around 18 or 19, already three to four years into her career, she began to notice the effects. “I think I was able to become successful in [that] era because of social media. I love being able to have access to my fan base.”
