If you are looking for the Law of Attraction or what is the law of Attraction? You are in the right place. When I was growing up, my mother often mentioned that what she imagined magically appeared in her life, and the same law applied when she imagined something she didn’t want!
And she used to say that if she wanted something badly, she wouldn’t get it if she didn’t feel bad about not getting it, avoiding her. I never thought this much until I came across the concept of expression and expressive mood. I was surprised to learn that what my mother was referring to in passing was actually a universal law…the law of attraction.
The History of the Law of Attraction
The law of attraction is not a brand-new idea, despite the fact that it has recently attracted a lot of attention. These concepts have philosophical roots that go all the way back to the “New Thought” movement of the first half of the 19th century.
In the 20th century, there was a rebirth of interest in the concept, especially after the publication of the 2006 movie “The Secret,” which was later made into the best-selling book of the same name and its 2010 sequel, “The Power.”
In simple terms, the Law of Attraction maintains that we create the life we live! Whatever we think and whatever we feel – we get. You draw to yourself those experiences that match your beliefs; Be they consciously or unconsciously. The question arises as to why some of our desires never come true no matter how hard we think.
According to the Law of Attraction, The answer is that you are focusing too much on the negative side of your desire. For example, you may really want to take a trip to the Caribbean but never seem to get around to it. One thing or the other coming up will delay your plans. Try to focus on what goes through your mind when you think about your vacation.
Maybe every time you think about going to the Caribbean, you think, “Oh, I’ll never be able to go there… I’ll never have enough money… My boss won’t let me take time off… I have .so many more things to do … even if I manage everything else, something will come to my luck, etc. What happens is that your focus on the negative aspects manifests all the unwanted events that you don’t want.
There are certain requirements for manifesting pleasant things in your life:
- First of all, be grateful for what you have already been given. May the thankful have more!
- Be clear about what you want. Think about your desires in a very specific way, with all the details you can think of. Before you get what you want you
to have to make a choice and explain that choice to yourself. - Once you are clear about what you want, wish you already had it. Don’t let the unpleasant “need” feeling destroy your expressive magic. Think in detail
about how it makes you feel. It is essential to include your feelings in it. - Always think of your desires in a positive way and frame your thoughts positively. For example, thinking that you don’t want to be fat, that you don’t
want to be embarrassed in public, or that you don’t want to be a couch potato won’t work. Instead, say, “My weight is in a healthy range for my height,”
“I’m outgoing and confident,” “I exercise regularly,” etc. - Release your desire for the universe (replace this word with God, exaltation, higher self as you wish). Don’t worry about the “how”, “or what” you should
focus on! - After your desires are fulfilled, don’t forget to be thankful. This is very important!
Oh, let me be very clear about one thing… don’t think that sitting in your room and visualizing some result without taking any action will get you what you want. It is very necessary to keep your eyes open for any opportunities that are presented to you in order to reach your goal and grasp them.
I have given you a simplified version of the Laws of Universal Attraction and how to use them to get your way. I hope I have piqued enough interest in you to try these techniques in your life and find ways to become a master publisher.
How to Use the Law of Attraction
What is the best way to start using the law of attraction? You make your own reality, according to this idea. You attract into your life what you concentrate on. It implies that your life will turn out the way you expect it to.
- Be grateful
- Visualize your goals
- Look for the positives in a situation
- Learn how to identify negative thinking
- Use positive affirmations
- Reframe negative events in a more positive way
Tips for Practicing the Law of Attraction
You may learn how to apply the law of attraction in your own life by doing a few activities. Some suggestions are:
Practice acceptance: Work on accepting things as they are rather than focusing on what is incorrect or needs to be changed in the present. This simply means that you won’t get caught up in yearning for things to be different right now. It doesn’t mean that you won’t keep working toward a better future.
Practice positive self-talk: If you have trouble being too harsh on yourself, make it a point to talk to yourself positively every day. This can get much simpler over time, and you might discover that it becomes increasingly difficult to keep a pessimistic outlook.
Journaling: In order to determine whether you incline toward optimism or pessimism and to learn more about how to change negative thought patterns, writing down your thoughts might help you better learn to understand your habitual thought patterns.
Make a mood board: Make a visual reminder that will help you keep a positive outlook, stay inspired, and keep your attention on your objectives.
Potential Pitfalls of the Law of Attraction
One issue with “The Secret” and other similar publications, as well as some people’s interpretations of the law of attraction, is that they imply that all we need to achieve our goals is the belief that they will come to us, without any form of action supporting that belief.
Positive attitudes motivate proactive actions, which in turn help optimists achieve such outstanding accomplishments in their life. Optimists don’t only profit from their views; they also inspire positive conduct, which is what brings about lasting change.
In order for beliefs to affect behavior, it is important to also have things such as:
- Goals
- Mindfulness
- Commitment
- Motivation
- Timelines
- Challenges
- Support
The very real danger that people may begin to blame themselves for unfavorable circumstances that are beyond of their control, such mishaps and injuries, job losses due to a financial downturn, or serious illnesses, is another issue raised by detractors of “The Secret” and other law of attraction literature.
Even if we sometimes have no control over our environment, we always have power over how we react to it. In this spirit, the law of attraction can offer the positivity and proactive attitude associated with perseverance in trying circumstances, but it must not be used as a tool of self-blame.
